. xQUARTZ is required to be installed FIRST, then repair permissions in your partition and then Reboot the Computer. This version is also compatible with Snow Leopard Mac OSX 10.6.8 Follow the instruction in the manual and you successfully will be able to run PSS using MAC OSX 10.7.x & 10.8.X NOTE: If you are not able to install successfully this software on a Mac running 10.7.x & 10.8.X, then you will need to remove the PSS installation and Folder from the applications folder in your Mac, then repair the permissions on your drive using DISK UTILITY, then Reboot the machine. Reinstall PSS and repair permissions again then Reboot one more time. Also make sure you are running the latest version of XQUARTZ.
Before installing PSS, it is a good idea to restart your computer. After your computer restarts, proceed with the installation of PSS. • Again, completely remove/uninstall the PSS Client from your computer, run the software update & upgrade to 10.7.1 and restart. Then download the latest Mac PSS Client from our website and install it.
Disclaimer: PSS for Mac is a basic software that supports NVRs, DVRs and IP Cameras. It will able to stream D1 resolution through DVR and NVRs. When connecting to IPC it will only be able to connect to it using extra stream resolution (Up to D1 Resolution).
This software have limitations in a OSX environment. To take advantage of this software, we recommend to use the windows version. You can use virtual machine software such as Bootcamp, VMware, Parallels, or Virtual box to load windows and runPSS for windows. PSS mini version is available with limited features at the moment.
Two things to check: 1) Make sure that you are running Lion. I know this seems like a simple step but if you aren't running Lion, the method you are trying to use won't work. Click on the Apple icon (top left) then 'About this Mac.' If the version number is 10.7.x, then you are running Lion. If it is anything besides that, you are running a previous OS. 2) If you are sure you are running Lion, try open xQuartz first, then open PSS. Make sure you have v 4.04.

We're attempting to use pss v4.04, but I can't see anything on my mac and the tech who installed it doesn't know how to help. First, problems with firefox. When I go to the new ip address, nothing shows up on the main screen.
We thought I may have to create an exception for that site to allow it, but after adding the site, the page is still blank. Second, problems with pss. Where to begin?

I removed/deleted the old PSS program and PSS folder in the applications folder, then I installed the latest Xquartz from here: Then I installed PSS v4.04 from here: If you need a program to unrar it, use UnRarX. Install the program and run the PSS icon (looks like a webcam).

For some reason, it's a little slow when it runs, doesn't show the bouncing app icon when it's load, but eventually the Xquartz will load, then the username/password PSS window will pop up and you can login to view the cameras.
